Last week, we had our first ever General Instructor Course along with our second Newborn Life Support Course. 18 amazing doctors and nurses flew over from the UK with the aim of creating a national standard of resuscitation for newborn babies in Vietnam. The Newborn Life Support Course (NLS) has been developed with the support of the Resuscitation Council UK and is internationally recognised in Europe and across the world with the help of the European Resuscitation Council.
Newborns wants to give a huge congratulations to all 72 candidates who took part in the Newborn Life Support Course, we wish you the best of luck going into the future, we know you will do us all proud. We would also like to mention how incredibly proud we are of the 20 General Instructor Candidates for taking their first steps towards creating a sustainable, self-sufficient NLS program in Vietnam.
A very big thank you to our sponsors Hong Ngoc, Northern Accor, Hilton Hanoi Opera, Daewoo, VietMedical, UPRace and The Coffee House who provided resources, accommodation and amazing hospitality as well as keeping the whole faculty hydrated throughout a very busy week. Our thanks also go to the British Ambassador who hosted a wonderful evening at the British Residency celebrating British and Vietnamese relations.
Finally, thank you to the instructors who gave their time to help improve the life chances of newborn babies all over Vietnam, without you and all our other fantastic volunteers who have ran, cycled and swam for us over the world, none of this would be possible. We all have a role to play in reaching our goal of zero preventable newborns deaths in Vietnam and you are a huge part of that.
