Today, amidst the rain clouds, a new light shines in Hue as we were warmly welcomed by the Vice Director of Hue Central Hospital and the Director of the Department of Health. The presence of the UK Newborn Life Support (NLS) instructors here marks a significant step in our shared mission to reduce newborn deaths in Vietnam.
The Hue officials reaffirmed their dedication to the Ministry of Health’s vital goal: saving babies’ lives within the first 24 hours and the first week of life. With the training provided, Vietnamese instructors qualified in NLS will extend their life-saving knowledge across central Vietnam, becoming champions for better newborn care.
Our Executive Director had the honour of congratulating the hospital on the success of its candidates, who have now become certified instructors. These skilled professionals are the new messengers of good practice, bringing hope for the survival of thousands of babies.
Today’s celebration was more than a training milestone—it was historic. Over 1,000 health professionals have been trained in NLS, and we proudly launched the Vietnamese edition of the NLS manual. Presenting this to the Hue Central Hospital officials and NLS candidates was a moment of pure joy, a testament to the power of collaboration in our shared journey to save more babies’ lives. Together, we are changing the future, one newborn at a time.
