Two weeks of intensive neonatal training completed, all smiles as doctors and nurses from Son La Province General Hospital, Moc Chau and Thao Nguyen General Hospitals receive their certificates from Dr Richard.
Many important topics were covered from interpreting x-rays, care for a baby with jaundice. There was a strong focus on getting the basics right, skin to skin care, breastfeeding and keeping baby warm. Not enough can be said about the importance of cleanliness, proper handwashing and infection control for keeping babies safe. A fun training session with parents and staff using our Glo kit that casts a revealing glow when exposed to U.V. light, turning the invisible into “germs we could all see!”
Thanks to all the participants for your hard work and to Dr Nga for all her translation and teaching support. Special thanks to Topas Travel/Vietnam Trail Marathon for your great support and the care for breastfeeding mothers, more comfortable chairs.
