A significant step forward for neonatal care—doctors selected as future instructors on the Newborn Life Support (NLS) course are embracing the challenge of learning to teach. The Generic Instructor Course (GIC) is rigorous; each candidate must not only demonstrate their own mastery of life-saving clinical skills but also develop the ability to teach, support, and provide constructive feedback to others.
As part of their preparation, candidates took part in an invaluable pre-course session, including an airway management demonstration and hands-on practice led by experienced instructors. This real-time experience provided critical insight into the demands of teaching newborn resuscitation. These future trainers, from Hanoi, Hue, and Dak Lak, are on a journey to ensure the long-term sustainability of NLS in Vietnam—equipping more healthcare professionals with the skills to save newborn lives.
Good luck to all the candidates on the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) March Generic Instructor Course!
