Today Dr Tran Ngoc Ha, Director Tu Du Hospital HCMC launched the Newborns Vietnam/Edinburgh Napier University ‘Respectful Midwifery’ training course. This programme is informed by Tu Du midwives and clinical managers who shared their experience and explored new concepts. The hospital took part in the validation of the international 10-item Birth Satisfaction Scale-Revised (BSS-R), a survey for measuring women’s experiences of childbirth.

Giving birth is a life altering experience, having a positive birth experience can raise self-esteem, improve transition to parenthood, and create greater mother-infant bonding. Tu Du are leading the way for respectful midwifery care that is woman focused and are using the survey tool to hear directly from the thousands of mothers who give birth at the hospital every year.

Tu Du Hospital and Newborns Vietnam thank Harbour Energy the programme sponsor.
