I am one of the neonatal lecturers on the Newborns Vietnam neonatal nurse training programme and have been privileged to be teaching the nurses about a wide range of neonatal issues, including keeping babies warm and developing sucking ability for breast feeding. When working clinically I observed that there was a shortage of digital thermometers and as a result some babies were getting cold because their temperature was not being taken regularly enough so I decided to purchase some thermometers locally. This ensured each baby now has their own thermometer and this also contributed to reducing risk of cross infection.
