Nim is part of our UK team of Neonatal Consultants who providing training for the junior doctors at the Da Nang Hospital for Women & Children’s neonatal unit. He also led an intensive infection prevention and intervention training programme, this is part of our two year programme funded by St James’s Place Foundation.  Infection is a major cause of death and disability and avoidable harm in newborn babies.  In Da Nang the prevalence of hospital acquired infection is high and is a major cause of death, either as a direct cause or as a contributory factor, and long-term neurodisability in survivors of neonatal care.
