Welcome back to Hanoi to our UK resuscitation instructors, the team have established the Newborn Life Support NLS training programme at the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, contributing improving the resuscitation at birth skills of doctors, nurses and midwives from 61 hospitals, in 29 provinces. Successful participants receive an internationally valid certificate from the European Resuscitation Council, those that demonstrate a high level of skill undertake the education trainer course.
There are now 22 fully trained Vietnamese NLS instructors who will contributing to spreading the knowledge, skills of best practice in newborn resuscitation to save more babies’ lives. Next week the UK team head to Hue and Ho Chi Minh City, rolling out this important programme to centre and south of Vietnam. All the UK teachers are volunteers.
