Today, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy welcomed back the UK Newborn Life Support (NLS) faculty. Great news, by the end of 2025 the Hue NLS course centre will have a fully qualified Vietnamese NLS instructor faculty who can teach without UK support. As we head towards this amazing achievement, we reflect on the power the lifesaving partnership between Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, So Sinh Viet Nam (SSVN) and the European Resuscitation Council and powered by BIM Group and KMS Technology.
Thanks to the NLS scholarship scheme, hundreds of doctors, nurses and midwives from the central region of Vietnam participate in the NLS training, learning critical skills to save babies’ lives. Dr Gary Hartnoll, Ms Elizabeth Schonewald, Associate Prof Hoang Bui Bao Dr Ngo Viet Loc and Dr Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh presented scholarships to 24 candidates sponsored by Rotary Club Macau, Sales Force and Newborns Vietnam Runners, they cut quite a dash in their be a ‘Lifesaver t-shirts’, designed and donated by Regna.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Kind Heart Foundation for their sponsorship of hotel accommodation for the UK team. This is truly the power of partnership, education, business and sport combining to save more babies’ lives.
