The first IRONMAN to be held in Vietnam in Da Nang 2015 on was a great success with over 1,000 athletes from 54 countries taking part. For Newborns Vietnam and the Da Nang Hospital for Women & Children it was a wonderful weekend.
The Ironman team organised for the Professional Athletes to visit the neonatal intensive care unit. Following a presentation from the Director of the Hospital and a tour of the neonatal unit. They were all very struck by our mission and work to improve newborn care and the lack of equipment and in particular incubators. Andrew Messick, global CEO of Ironman and Fred Uytengsu, President of Sunrise Events Vietnam made a wonderful announcement that would like to support the awesome work of the hospital with a donation of $20,000 from their respective organisations for Newborns Vietnam to buy 2 incubators. This incredibly generous donation will help move newborn care to another level.
